Successful, But Feeling Out of Gas?
Let us guess: you have virtually everything that the world says should make you
happy. Those closest to you constantly tell you what a great person you are and
that you should be satisfied with where you are. And, you've just found out you
are one of two winners of the Powerball Jackpot. You're on top of the world; power,
fortune and fame are your calling cards but for some odd reason, there is something
missing. You can't quite put your finger on it, but you know, "If money, prestige,
and power aren't getting it done, then what am I missing? What am I not seeing?"
We suggest that what you aren't seeing is the spiritual part of your life, because
you were made for more than what this world has to offer. More than parties on the
weekends, more than career success--you were designed for a truly glorious life.
We have a short animation called "Steps to Peace with God" to explain that glorious
life.
You are God's unique design.
Now, most people believe God does exist. Who God may be is another question, but
let's stop a moment on his existence since there has been some noisy argument about
this lately. The problems of unbelief in God are far greater than the problems of
belief. Hear us out for a moment. To believe that unaided dead matter produced life,
that living matter produced mind, that mind produced conscience and that chaos or
chance produced the cosmos of order as we see it in nature, seems to call not for
faith but for credulity.
George Gallup, the famed American statistician once said: "I could prove God statistically.
Take the human body alone--- the chance that all its functions would just happen
is a statistical monstrosity."
" ... anything as well ordered and perfectly created as is our earth and universe must have a Maker, a Master Designer. "
Surely, no thoughtful, educated person would want to base their eternal future on
a "statistical monstrosity." Maybe that's why the Bible says in Psalm 14:1, "The
fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.' "
Dr. Werner von Braun, first director of NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center, said,
"… anything as well ordered and perfectly created as is our earth and universe must
have a Maker, a Master Designer. Anything so orderly, so perfect, so precisely balanced,
so majestic as this creation, can only be the product of a Divine idea." And noted
biologist Edwin Conklin once mused, "The probability of life originating from accident,
is comparable to the probability of an Unabridged Dictionary resulting from an explosion
in a printing shop."
So, let's go back to the question on the table: are you successful but feeling out
of gas? We believe you feel empty probably because you lack a relationship with
God, the creator of all things. We recommend two short, easy-to-read booklets for
you.
First, The Reason Why was written by a successful businessman for people like you.
It's a straight-forward peak into subjects such as:
- Is Christianity credible?
- Does God exist?
- If He does, do I really need Him?
- What about the Bible--can it be true after all these years?
We all question our existence, we wonder about our place in the world, and as we
get older we search for personal meaning as we try to blend success with some sort
of significance.
If your internal fuel gauge is flashing "empty," why not pull into the greatest
source of fuel the universe has ever known. You've been trying it your way. What
do you have to lose trying it God's way?
We have a short animation called "Steps to Peace with God" to explain where to find
God's fuel source.
If you've been led to believe this is some complicated, hocus-pocus process, you're
about to find out how truly simple saying yes really is. Click here to find out!
After you click through our animation, please contact someone from CBMC in your
area. We would appreciate the opportunity to talk to you about God, the Bible, and
Jesus Christ. In the meantime, you may enjoy listening to some men talk about their
lives:
Second, we recommend our little study book,
First Steps, for a short discussion
of some basic spiritual questions. This book refers to several verses from the Bible,
and if you don't have a Bible, there are many online versions available. Talk to
that CBMC person in your area about spending some time discussing the things in
this booklet.
Now, you're ready to discover your greater purpose in life. We aren't claiming to
have the answers to every question about God and spiritual life. We're just asking
you to get close enough to see God at work in your life or the life of a Christian
you know. Today, your tank is empty, but in a few days, it can be filled with an
inexplicable peace.
You are at the doorway to eternal life. What do you plan to do?
