(Sunday---April 18, 2010) The 2010 Leadership Conference is officially underway. One-hundred and twenty-eight leaders and staff poured into Asheville, NC., throughout the day and at precisely 7:00 pm, the lights dimmed and the theme song for this year's conference, Find Us Faithful, echoed through the Training Center at The Cove.
After a lively praise and worship welcome, the program began and was highlighted by a wonderful recognition ceremony. Everyone in attendance stood and was applauded, whether they have been a part of CBMC for 1 year or 37 years.
A video showing the evolution of the CBMC lapel pins dating back to the Big Band Era, was shown as some of the Old Guard of CBMC remembered some of those old out-of-circulation pins. And then the room applauded with the news that CBMC lapel pins are back.
Steve Casbon and Jim Chenet then invited full-time staff who had been with the ministry between 10-20 years to the stage to receive special sapphire-embedded CBMC Get Connected lapel pins. And then 6 members of the 20-years and up club came forward to receive their diamond pins.
Before the evening concluded, everyone received a pin and the response was overwhelmingly positive.
The gathering also got a sneak preview about the new branding awareness campaign that is being implemented here at the Leadership Conference. CBMC has a new typestyle and the tag line is now Get Connected. The planning team promised to reveal more about the roll-out throughout the next 2 1/2 days.
